My Comfort Food

Hello all, Today I’ll be sharing with you my favourite comfort food when life just gets that little bit tougher, it’s a food u have every time I’m back home and it’s something that brings joy and calmness to my body every time I eat it.The food I’m talking about is as they would call it in my native language ‘Doh Roast Syier’

It’s simple easy to make and cheap dish that fills your stomach and has a nice smooth taste. When you eat this dish It’s usually with rice only it’s a very bare and there is not too many different sides which are added to the dish itself. Anyways the dish is something as the name suggest different from just roasting the chicken. Below I’ll tell you all the recipe of how my mei used to make it

First Step- get a Chicken dead preferably

Step 2- Put down the Chicken if it’s still alive and then u skin it

Step 3- You then start roasting the chicken and after roasting you immediately put the chicken in the freezer very important step, follow to hard. You usually do this with multiple chickens allowing you to quickly cook the dish.

Step 4- You then boil the chicken in a pressure cooker and inside the pressure cooker you should add two chillies, salt, and water

Step 5 – Wait half-an hour and then prepare your plate the with half of the plate being chicken and the other being rice. Enjoy and if you all don’t follow the exact recipe or you don’t find the dish tasty I hope you slip on a stone.

This dish is easy to cook, cheap and tasty it’s something that I used to have daily when I was home, it was a staple dish that I had at least 5 or 6 times a week without fail. It’s a good lunchtime food since it’s easy to cook and people can wake up in the morning cook this dish and pack it for lunch with no difficulty or issues. This dish is special to me because of what it means and what it represents, the dish represents home, this dish is certainly not my favorite, it’s not the tastiest dish in the world, but for me it brings comfort and serves of a reminder of where I come from.
